The Starting Path

You Have an Idea. Now What?

Every business in our fellowship started exactly where you are — an idea, some courage, and a lot of questions. You don't have to figure it out alone. Here's where to begin.

Your First Five Steps

Not a business plan. Not a loan. Just five things you can actually do this month.

  1. 1.Write it down in one sentence

Who do you help, and what problem do you solve for them? If you can't say it simply, it isn't ready yet — and that's okay. Clarity comes first.

  2. 2.Commit it to the Lord

Before the paperwork, pray. Ask God whether this idea is an assignment or just an ambition — and invite one trusted believer to pray with you.

  3. 3.Talk to one real potential customer

Not friends who will encourage you — someone who would actually pay. Ask what they struggle with and listen more than you talk.

  4. 4.Set up the legal foundation

Choose a structure, register your business, and get the right licenses. It's less complicated than it feels, and free help exists (below).

  5. 5.Open simple books from day one

A separate bank account and a basic way to track money in and out. Clean books now save you pain every single year after.

"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."

Proverbs 16:3

Starting a business is an act of faith and stewardship. Bring your idea to the next meeting — we call it "Bring Your Biggest Challenge" — and let people who've been where you are help you sharpen it.

LEARN IT. DO IT. PASS IT ON.

The best first step is a room full of people who've already taken it.
