Get the idea out of your head and onto paper.
Every business, ministry, movement, product, service, or organization begins as an idea. At this stage, you are not trying to build the company — you are trying to understand what the idea actually is.
Capture it before you begin judging it, overthinking it, naming it, building a website, or spending money.
Your first goal is clarity — not perfection.
Section 1
Where did the idea come from?
Section 2
The raw idea
Don't worry about making it sound professional. Write it exactly the way you'd explain it to a friend.
Section 3
Who could this help?
Section 4
What problem did you notice?
Great businesses usually solve real problems.
Section 5
Why you?
You do not need to be the world's greatest expert. Sometimes being one or two steps ahead of somebody else is valuable.
Section 6
Bring the idea before God
- Have you prayed about this idea?
- Does this idea serve people?
- Does it align with biblical principles?
- Are you pursuing service or only recognition?
- Are there trusted believers you can discuss this with?
- Are you willing to change the idea if God redirects you?
“Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.” Proverbs 16:3
Section 7
Empty your head
Write down every thought connected to the idea. Do not organize it yet. Capture it.

Dream without limits
If this worked beyond what you currently imagine, what could it become?
This is vision, not a promise. You are giving yourself permission to think bigger.
Section 9
Create the first idea statement
Version 1 — Your Idea Statement
Fill in the blanks above and your statement appears here.
Example: I want to create a Christian business fellowship for entrepreneurs because many business owners lack mentorship, community, practical resources, and trusted relationships.
Section 10 · Case Study
How Pass It On Started
The idea for Pass It On began in church. Eddy's pastor asked: “What are you doing to advance the Kingdom?”
The question caused him to think about his own business journey — failed businesses, successful businesses, challenges, mistakes, books, lessons, relationships, and years of learning.
One problem kept standing out: many entrepreneurs struggle alone. Some cannot find mentors. Some do not know what to do next. Some need relationships or practical resources. Others have knowledge and experience but no simple way to pass it to the next person.
The concept became: create a movement where Christian business owners help one another learn, grow, build relationships, share resources, and build stronger businesses.
The idea was written down. A plan followed. A 30-day launch target was set. Meetup was used to attract people. A website started being built. The first meeting was held. Marketing channels followed — and the idea started becoming a real movement.
Pass It On did not start as a finished organization. It started with one question.
Section 11
